“Mobile phones have a bright future like all great inventions of developing into instruments of contact even between planets through special recharging mechanisms.”

It was at the end of the 20th century that mobile or cellular phones (that could be carried and that worked from a network of radio stations) became popular. People use them for official and business work. They also use them privately and carry it around. It has created links between cities, countries, and continents without the need of any wires. Telephone messages are sent through radio and microwave transmissions. These transmissions are made possible by communication satellites that send the messages back to far-off places in the world. Mobile phones, thus, have made all places on the earth within the reach of people anywhere telephonically.

At first, car phones were used in the US. for short distances. The phone calls traveled through small broadcast towers. Later, these telephones developed into a cellular radiotelephone system. The mobile telephones of today are, in fact, cellular radiotelephones. Mobile phones have helped us a lot in business, science and other fields of active life. [the_ad id=”17141″]Businessmen can exchange messages or communicate with each other to buy and sell their products. Scientists can exchange information and knowledge readily to promote their work. Teachers and writers can inform each other about the latest developments in their subjects. Government and military offices can exchange useful messages to get and give help to each other.

Secondly, mobile phones have made possible visits to far-off places in dangerous areas. Mountaineers, hunters, and travellers of all kinds can go to unknown places with their mobile phones. They feel sure that if they face any danger, they can at once inform others in contact with them.

In this way, journeys across deserts or through forests have become safe and possible. Thirdly, mobile phones are used to catch criminals and terrorists. If they threaten us in any way, messages can be sent to the police or friends for ready help. For this, the guards at important places keep mobile phones with them. Fourthly, politicians, leaders, and rulers can have a direct link with each other through mobile phones. They can have important discussions in difficult times to avoid war or other emergencies. Fifthly, businessmen in other countries or while travelling can get the latest information from their country for their business deals. They can get the latest exchange rates from stock exchanges at different places to avoid losses.[the_ad id=”17142″]

Though mobile phones have their uses, they are harmful as well. Criminals and terrorists use mobile phones to contact each other while committing robberies and other serious crimes. Criminals have hijacked planes with mobile phones by informing each other about their actions or by sending wrong messages to control towers about the directions of planes. Mobile phones have caused mental or nervous problems among some users. It is also said that constant use of mobile phones causes brain tumors (swellings).

We should use mobile phones in a proper manner. Too much of their use should be avoided. We shall not only save money by not using them but also keep ourselves healthy and satisfied. It will not be wrong if the government places some restrictions on the use of mobile phones by younger people and those who do not really need them in their regular work.
